Dryer & Vent Cleaning

The U.S. Fire Administration logs ~2,900 dryer fires per year — 34% from lint buildup. A clogged vent also doubles dry time and wears out the heating element. We clear the full run, end to end, and verify airflow is back to spec.

Equipment

What we bring to the job

Professional-grade tools matter — they decide whether your space gets surface-cleaned or actually restored. Here's the gear we use on every dryer & vent cleaning job.

LintEater Rotary Brush System
Industry-standard rotating brush on flexible rods — follows elbows and long vent runs up to 40ft without stopping, scrubbing lint off every inch of duct wall.
HEPA Commercial Vacuum
Shop-vac class commercial vacuum with HEPA filtration captures lint at both ends — nothing gets past it into the laundry room or outside.
Airflow Meter (Manometer)
Before and after static pressure readings prove the vent is actually unrestricted. We don't just "clean" — we verify airflow is back to spec.
Inspection Camera
Video borescope confirms the full run is clear — including elbows, roof transitions, and exterior termination caps where birds love to nest.
Exterior Cap + Damper Tools
Remove and clean the exterior termination cap and louver damper. This is where 50% of failures start and the last part of the run most cleaners ignore.
Booster Fan Service (if applicable)
Long runs and condo stacks often have inline booster fans that accumulate lint and fail. We service them as part of the cleaning when present.
Process

How we do it

Same six-step process every time, so you know exactly what to expect.

  1. 1
    Disconnect + inspect
Pull the dryer, disconnect the transition hose, and inspect the internal lint trap housing — where the biggest fire hazard lives.
  2. 2
    Rotary brush the full run
LintEater rods run from dryer outlet all the way to exterior termination. Bends, elbows, and long runs all brushed.
  3. 3
    Clean exterior cap + damper
Exterior louver removed, damper flap inspected, bird/pest nests cleared. The cap is replaced or adjusted if damaged.
  4. 4
    Internal lint trap housing
Most cleaners skip this. We vacuum out the internal cavity behind the lint screen where fine lint bypasses the filter and accumulates on heating elements.
  5. 5
    Airflow verification
Manometer reading taken at the dryer end. Proves the vent is actually flowing at spec — not just cleaner-looking.
  6. 6
    Reconnect + test run
Dryer pushed back into place, transition hose reattached with new clamps if needed, and we run the dryer empty for a cycle to confirm everything is tight.

FAQ

Questions we get

How often should dryer vents be cleaned?

Once a year for normal households. Every 6 months if you have pets, a long vent run, or an upstairs/condo dryer stack. If clothes take longer than one cycle to dry — clean it now.

How do I know if mine needs it?

Clothes take two cycles to dry, dryer feels hot to the touch, laundry room is humid during runs, or the vent cap flaps look clogged. Any of those = schedule.

Can you reach a roof vent?

Yes. Most residential roof runs are within reach with extendable rods. Very high or commercial roofs may need a separate rooftop visit with ladder/scaffolding scoped up front.

Will it really reduce my dry times?

A fully clogged vent can push a 50-minute dry cycle past 2 hours. Post-clean we usually see 30–45% reduction in dry times — and your heating element stops working overtime.
